Our mission at the Children’s Academy is to embrace, enlighten, and enrich the lives of every family that walks through our doors by leading with heart, innovating with our play-based curriculum, and providing students with a strong foundation for school readiness in an inspiring and creative way. The best interests of our students and their families are at the core of everything we do.
At the Children’s Academy, our curriculum underscores our educational philosophy. We recognize that every interaction—both verbal and nonverbal—plays a critical role in the education process. The early years, from birth to age five, represent a pivotal period in a child’s development, and we are honored to contribute positively to their formative development.
Infant & Toddler
Our infant and toddler programs focus on play-based learning, providing rich opportunities for sensory exploration. Nurturing both physical and cognitive growth during these early stages is vital to your child’s development. Our carefully crafted curriculum meets and exceeds the Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards and represents a holistic approach that supports all developmental milestones.
Pre-K Academics
Our Pre-K program is renowned for nurturing some of the brightest young minds in the area! To ensure our students are well-prepared for school, we collaborate closely with various Knox County educators to incorporate essential kindergarten skills into our curriculum. Our curated curriculum emphasizes thematic and hands-on learning experiences which meet and exceed all Tennessee Early Learning Developmental Standards.
Enrichment & Guests
In addition to our robust academic curriculum, we offer Pre-K students weekly classes in soccer and French to provide valuable opportunities for motor development and cultural enrichment. The Brightwheel app allows our Pre-K parents to keep track of their child’s progress and easily access documentation of their child’s learning journey so that formative school experiences and developmental milestones at school can be celebrated at home.
Each month, we welcome special guests associated with the current phase of the curriculum. These guests might include furry friends and their handlers from local farms, musical performances by a local string quartet, festive holiday visitors, and even magic shows. The variety of activities and experiences offered ensures that there is always something new and exciting happening at the Children’s Academy!
Staying Connected
Throughout each day, our young learners are engaged in diverse activities that stimulate their minds and bodies, fostering neurological connections that are vital for future learning. Through the Brightwheel app, we have created a window through which parents can view the important developmental work being undertaken by their children daily through photos, activity logs, milestone reports, and other comprehensive documentation!
